Nonprofits Duet: Partners In Health & Aging and ACCESSMed Foundation have teamed up to help Valley senior citizens access their healthcare benefits.
Most seniors, ages 65 and older, receive Medicare help from the federal government but the benefits do not cover all their medical bills. Determining the appropriate Medicare and Medicaid coverage can be confusing. With the help of ACCESSMed Foundation, Duet now provides highly experienced health insurance professionals who donate their time, personal expense and travel to help vulnerable seniors understand and enroll in their complete range of Medicare and AHCCCS Medicaid entitlements. Duet also is offering a new Caring for Parents Virtual Support group that meets via Zoom from 3 to 4:30 p.m. the first and third Saturdays of every month. This group helps people who are caring for their parents come together to share challenges and learn resources and tips to help them cope.
