A new year often brings changes. That’s certainly true for North Central News, as we said good-bye to editor Colleen Sparks at the end of the year and welcomed Kathryn M. Miller to the position.

Colleen, who served as editor since July 2019, has taken a position as a public information officer with the Arizona Department of Economic Security. We’re very sorry to see her go but happy that she has the opportunity to move on to something new and different. I really appreciate the great work Colleen has done at North Central News and I know she will shine in her new role as well.

A skilled editor, Kathryn comes to us after 16 years at the CITYSunTimes newspaper, where she progressed from staff writer to editor-in-chief. A North Central resident, she has been a member of the North Phoenix and Phoenix Metro Chambers of Commerce and was involved in the Washington High School Music Boosters and Site Council. Kathryn will be responsible for covering local news and events and coordinating and editing our monthly content in print and in our online sites.  Many of you will have the opportunity to get to know Kathryn as she works with community leaders and members in sharing information about issues, events and activities in North Central.

Our best to Colleen in her new endeavor and welcome to Kathryn!
