For more than three decades, the APS Electric Light Parade has been an event where families, neighborhood groups and businesses from across the city come together to celebrate the joy of the holiday season.

This year’s 37th annual event kicks off at 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 7. The parade begins at Central and Montebello avenues and will travel south on Central Avenue to Camelback Road, then east to 7th Street and south again, ending at Indian School Road.

The day of the parade, road closures will be in place from 5-11 p.m. on Central Avenue (Camelback Road to Bethany Home Road); on 7th Street (Indian School Road to Osborn Road); and on Camelback Road (1st Avenue to 7th Street).

The parade run time varies each year, and residents are encouraged to travel to the parade route via light rail. For additional information, visit www.phoenix.gov/parks/elp.
