The Square at Heritage and Science Park (formerly Heritage Square) will dive into the elaborate and fascinating history of dining in the 19th century during a free, one-hour lecture, presented May 22 at 6:30 p.m.
How did the Industrial Revolution change food production? Was ice really delivered door-to-door in 19th century Phoenix? What in the world is mock turtle soup? Learn these things and more while enjoying an up-close look at dining items from the museum collection during “Oysters & Olive Spoons: Victorian Dining.”
This lecture is part of the Summer Lecture Series at the Square and is free to the public. The program will take place in the south classroom of the Lath House Pavilion. The Square at Heritage and Science Park is located at 113 N. Sixth St. in downtown Phoenix.
