
From art and acting to dancing and fitness, the Center for Senior Enrichment offers a variety of classes and programs for those aged 60 and older (submitted photo).
Beginning in August, the Jewish Family & Children’s Service’s Center for Senior Enrichment will kick off a new group of programs and classes geared towards adults aged 60 and older.
Participants in Golden Stage: Acting Artistry for the Young at Heart will explore character, script and live performance in this dynamic acting class, starting August 5. Hone your creativity and stage skills in a supportive environment, leading up to a final performance. Starting Aug. 21, Tai Chi for Balance, Strength and Wellness allows participants to experience the calming benefits of Tai Chi in this gentle, standing-based class series. Improve posture, balance and flexibility while reducing stress.
Creative Color Art Workshop helps participants unleash their inner artist through drawing, watercolor and acrylic painting, with no experience needed. The program starts Sept. 8, just bring a sketchbook and a creative spirit. Golden Airwaves: Exploring and Performing a Radio Play brings stories to life with voice acting, sound effects and a live performance in this engaging radio play class starting Sept. 8. Beginner Line Dancing, where participants can kick up their heels and have fun while learning popular country and Motown line dances in an energizing and social class series, begins Sept. 10. Hip Hop Groove: Senior Fitness invites residents to dance their way to better health with low-impact hip hop moves set to upbeat tunes – begins Oct. 7.
Finally, CHORDially Yours Chorus Group will begin Oct. 16 – explore musical theater and pop favorites with no musical experience needed. Build your confidence, connect with others and perform in a fall showcase and community concert.
