Phoenix families are invited to join the city of Phoenix and more than 50 community partners at Nature Fest PHX, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area 7th Avenue Trailhead at 2801 S. 7th Ave. A river clean-up will be held at 8 a.m. prior to the festival.

The festival will offer free fun for the whole family. Whether watching an outdoor puppet show, embracing your creativity in the Art Zone, interacting with live wildlife, planting for pollinators, and so much more, there is sure to be something for everyone. While there, be sure to enter the hourly drawings for prizes such as free Butterfly Wonderland tickets, gift cards or Phoenix Zoo tickets.

The Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area aims to restore the native wetland and riparian habitats of the historic Salt River, which once flowed year-round through Phoenix. With a variety of paved and natural trails, most with smooth surfaces and minimal elevation changes, Rio Salado is a popular location for hikers hoping to spot one of the hundreds of species of birds that use the area as a seasonal migratory path. The area is open daily from sunrise to 7 p.m. or sunset, whichever comes first.
