HealthyU Clinics, a provider of integrated primary and specialty care services with locations in California and Arizona, announced in late September that it has a definitive agreement to acquire Midwestern University Comprehensive Care Clinic located in Phoenix.

The clinic, which along with providing care to patients in the community also serves as a Family Medicine Residency training facility in partnership with Abrazo Health, will continue providing care to patients and training residents at the current location at 2000 W. Bethany Home Road in Phoenix. The clinic will operate under the name HealthyU Family Medicine Residency Clinic.

The company says that the acquisition will broaden access to healthcare services and strengthen continuity of care in the community.

“Patients will have the same access to doctors, residents and staff,” the company said in a press release. “The transition will be seamless for patients; care plans will be securely transferred in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and state privacy laws. All current insurance plans will be maintained, as well as adding other plans to expand access to care.”
