Feed My Starving Children is an international food aid organization that has partnered locally with First United Methodist Church of Phoenix. A MobilePack meal packing day will take place on Saturday, March 1 at the church, located at 5510 N. Central Ave., at the northwest corner of Missouri and Central avenues.

Hundreds of volunteers are needed to pack 100,000 meals of dried vegetables, soy, chicken and rice, which are separated into quart-sized plastic bags. The dry meals are then shipped to areas in need around the world. The training is easy and no experience is required. There are standing as well as sitting volunteer jobs to fill.

Two-hour shifts are available throughout the day, beginning at 8 a.m. More than 100 volunteers are needed per shift.

Pre-registration is strongly encouraged by visiting http://goo.gl/YGa5oL. If you have questions, call 602-263-5013 or e-mail tina.olson@asu.edu.

Monetary donations also are welcome. A $20 donation per person/$40 donation per family will help cover the cost of the meals. Make checks out to First Church-FMSC, or visit the website and click on “Give Now.”
