The Phoenix City Council voted last month to start reopening all amenities in city parks. The city’s public parks, trails and golf courses stayed open during the COVID-19 pandemic but outdoor recreational features that present high-touch surfaces or areas that made physical distancing difficult were temporarily closed while city staff members and City Council members monitored positive case metrics for Coronavirus.

One popular area with easy and challenging trails, making it ideal for all ages, is Dreamy Draw Recreation Area at 2421 E. Northern Ave. It has a paved trail where you can push a stroller or just take advantage of a smooth path. There is much desert plant life you can see from the trails.

Park visitors should follow several guidelines related to health and safety, including wearing a mask or face covering. You should not use public recreational amenities if you are showing symptoms of illness. Also bring your own hand sanitizer and wet wipes with you. The city also urges everyone in parks to keep at least six feet away from others who are not in their family or hiking group.
