The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) announced that the following projects will require closures or lane restrictions along sections of I-10 and I-17 in the Phoenix area this weekend, Feb. 14-17:
- Southbound I-17 closed between Loop 303 and Happy Valley Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Feb. 17) for pavement and bridge work. Allow extra travel time. Stay with the primary detour route and avoid using streets east of I-17 that are not designed for freeway traffic. Primary Detour: Travel west on Loop 303, south on Lake Pleasant Parkway and east on Happy Valley Road.
- Westbound I-10 narrowed to two lanes in areas between Elliot Road and 24th Street from 8 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday (Feb. 17) for work on the I-10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project. Westbound US 60 (Superstition Freeway) narrowed to one lane between Rural Road and I-10. Allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes.
A closure also is scheduled along northbound State Route 143 near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Drivers should allow extra travel time and plan on using alternate routes if needed while the following restrictions are in place:
- Northbound SR 143 (Hohokam Expressway) closed between I-10 and Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) near Sky Harbor Airport from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday (Feb. 17) for pavement marking and lane shifts.
