The City of Phoenix Human Services Department offers programs and activities to the Valley’s older adults through their 15 Phoenix campuses. In addition to regular programming and special events both on-site and around the city, Memory Café is now offered at all centers.

Memory Café offers an environment for learning, support and social engagement for individuals living with early to moderate Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers. It’s a place to talk with others who understand what you are going through, forget about limitations, focus on strengths, enjoy each other’s company, and explore something new. The event may include structured activities such as music or art projects or educational events such as guest speakers, along with snacks and refreshments.

The Devonshire Senior Center, located at 2802 E. Devonshire Ave., generally hosts Memory Café the first Thursday of the month, 10-11 a.m. Contact the center at 602-262-7807. The Sunnyslope Senior Center, located at 802 E. Vogel Ave., hosts Memory Café the first Wednesday of the month from 10-11 a.m. Contact the center at 602-262-7572. To register for a Memory Café, call 602-534-5750 or email memory.cafe@phoenix.gov.

Programs and activities are offered at the city’s senior centers from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Membership gives residents access to all 15 Phoenix senior centers. The annual membership fee is $20 for Phoenix residents and $40 for non-residents. For general information, call 602-262-4520 or visit www.phoenix.gov/seniorcenters.
